When a baby or toddler has the flu it lasts about the same time as it does for adults.

So if your baby or toddler comes down with the flu the flu should go away within 7 days to 14 days.

If the baby or toddler has a fever of 100 F or above and it won't go down then you should take the baby or toddler to the emergency room just to be safe.

The high fever could cause other complications as well as possible brain damage so you need to get the fever down to 100 F or below to keep the baby safe.

Most times the fever goes down on it's own without any medical treatment and also make sure the baby or toddler is getting plenty of fluids.

If the baby can have water or juice such as apple juice, orange juice etc then give them some to keep them hydrated.

If the baby or toddler is getting dehydrated or not having enough wet diapers during the day then they should be taken to the emergency room because they may need an IV to get fluids into them.

If they have trouble breathing or coughing up blood etc take the baby or toddler to the emergency room to be safe.
