The function that basophils provide for the bodies immune system is that the basophils help with your body fighting parasitic infections.

The basophils other functions are also to prevent blood clotting.

Your bodies basophils contain a natural blood thinning substance called heparin which is responsible for keeping your blood thin like it should be to prevent blood clots from forming.

Blood clots can be dangerous and lead to strokes, heart attacks and even death.

The basophils also protect you from allergies and the flu and cold as well as other infections.

Still you can get the flu, cold and other infections even when your basophils are working properly but it can help with your immune system.
