When you have a fever and get chills the chills with the fever is a result of your bodies muscles contracting and trying to generate heat.

So basically your body is trying to generate heat and parts of your body are actually cooler than heated parts of your body.

When you get chills with a fever it's a good sign that your bodies immune system is working to fight off the virus and the fever is also used to fight off the virus.

Your bodies temperature naturally warms up to kill off the flu virus and then your bodies muscles contract to generate heat so you feel chilled from the chills.

When I get chills I have to either put some blankets on me or use an electric space heater to blow heat on me to keep me feeling warm.
