Driving in snow is okay as long as you and your vehicle are up to the task of driving in the snow.
If the snow is real deep then it's best to stay off the road until the roads are cleared of snow even when you have 4 wheel drive.
Even with 4 wheel drive you can get stuck in the snow and you might even need tire snow chains for traction and have good tread winter tires.
If we get more than 7 inches of snow here I stay off the roads until I know that the snow has been cleared off the roads because I don't want to get stuck and stranded on the road.
Most states and counties will keep major roads and highways clear of snow so that they are passable.
So just wait until they clear the snow off the roads before venturing out if you need too.
If you don't really need to go anywhere when it's snowing then it's best to stay home.
