After you give birth in the hospital you'll usually need to stay at the hospital with your baby for a couple days to allow yourself to rest and to allow the doctors to keep an eye on the vitals of the baby.

Then after a few days and everything is okay then you'll be ready to go home.

So you'll take it easy for a few days after giving birth and should stay home from work or doing any other activities for a few months at least.

You'll be busy though taking care of your baby for at least 6 months because babies cry a lot and demand a lot from the mother for the first 6 months.

But it does get better and soon that will be over with and you'll wish it were back.

You can take maternity leave to allow you time off from work to rest and take care of the baby and then return to work afterwards.

For some people they recover after a month or two of giving birth and some people don't fully recover until 12 months or so.
