Some people who are diabetic and have amputation done die within a few years of amputation and some diabetics die 5 to 10 years after amputation.

And then again some people live another 2 to 30 years and longer after amputation from being diabetic.

Not all diabetics will need amputation unless there health goes downhill even more.

If you're diabetic you should still exercise and eat healthy and that can help with the complications of diabetes to prevent it from getting worse.

My Grandma was diabetic from the time she turned 50 years old and she lived to be 100 years old and never had to have an amputation done.

So it can vary on the person and there current age as well.

For example if you're 65 or older and get an amputation done for diabetes then you might not live longer than another 10 to 20 years.

But someone younger might live 30 to 40 years after amputation but then again you could die within a year or 2 as there's no way to really know for sure.
