Dehydration can cause sharp pains in your head so if you're dehydrated and you're experiencing any headaches or sharp pains in your head be sure to drink some water and get hydrated again.

Dehydration if left to get more serious can lead to you passing out and even dying as a result.

If you're severely dehydrated you need to go to the emergency room but if you're just a little bit dehydrated then drinking a few glasses of water or a few bottles of water can help get your body hydrated again.

It's also easier to dehydrate during the winter months when you're home heating is on and the air is drying out as the dry heat can dehydrated you.

There have been some babies that have died during the winter because the room they were in was too warm and dehydrated them because they didn't get enough fluids.

So make sure you're getting enough fluids through the day especially when it's really hot outside or when it's cold out and you have the heat on.

My mouth gets a lot dryer at night and during the day in my house when the heat is on so I have to drink more fluids and use a humidifier to add moisture to the air.

Ice pick headaches can also cause sharp pains in the head and the pain usually lasts either a few seconds to 1 minute and they happen suddenly.

Sharp pains in the head are rarely serious but if they happen too often even when you're hydrated or the sharp pains in your head get worse you should see a doctor or go to the emergency room or urgent care to be sure it's nothing serious.
