Yes for some people ice pick headaches can last for several days before going away.

The ice pick headaches usually happen without any notice and the pain that happens with ice pick headaches last for a few seconds to a minute at most.

If the ice pick headaches last longer than a few weeks then I would see a doctor to make sure it's nothing serious.

Although ice pick headaches are not serious themselves there are sometimes other health issues with the brain and head that are more serious when you get pain there.

So if the pain or headaches last longer than a few weeks I would advise seeing a doctor about it just to be safe.

The pain associated with ice pick headaches usually last a few seconds to 1 minute at most.

The ice pick headaches can happen at anytime without warning and can happen during the day or when sleeping and they can be painful.

I will sometimes get ice pick headaches several times through the day but thankfully the pain associated with those painful ice pick headaches only last at most a minute when they do happen.

I really hate when they happen so suddenly and there's not much I can do to keep them away.

If the headache you're having is just an ice pick headache they are not serious but there's a similar pain that can be more serious so it would be a good idea to have the pain checked out to make sure the headaches are nothing more serious.

There's a similar type of pain that can be caused by serious conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia.

But for an ice pick headache just taking some pain medicine or applying a cold or warm compress over the head can help keep ice pick headaches at bay.
