Vinegar does help to disinfect carpet and upholstery as vinegar is a disinfectant and good cleaning solution and is good for using in carpet cleaners and vinegar is also good for getting out urine smells in carpet including dog urine, cat urine and human urine.

But although vinegar does work as a disinfectant it's also best to disinfect your carpet using stronger commercially available carpet cleaning solutions as well.

The carpet cleaning solutions will also help deep clean the carpet as well as disinfect the carpet much better than vinegar would.

But using vinegar once in awhile to clean the carpet is a good thing but I also use some regular carpet cleaner at least every few months to really deep clean the carpet.

You can also use vinegar and water to mop hardwood floors and vinyl floors as well.
