Yes you can grow pothos from a cutting.
To grow pothos plants from a cutting trim a 4-6 inch piece just below a root node.
Ideally, the cutting of the Pothos will have 4+ leaves and at least two growth nodes.
Pothos plant propagation can be done in water or soil, but once it begins, the plant has difficult switching to the other growing medium.
As long as you follow the above steps to grow a pothos from a cutting it will turn out just fine.
I've grown several Pothos from a cutting by doing the above steps and they've all turned out just fine.
