Do diapers need to be changed when they are just a little bit wet?

When a baby or toddler has a slightly wet disposable diaper does the diaper need to be changed when only partially wet or can you leave the wet diaper on the kid until it's soaking wet?

If your baby or toddler is wearing disposable diapers and not cloth diapers then you can let the baby or toddler stay in the wet diaper until it is full.

Newborns may fill their diaper up with pee within 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes so they may need their diaper changed more often.

When your baby gets to 1 year and above the baby may only need to have a diaper change every 2 to 3 hours and you do not need to change the diaper just because it's a little bit wet.

Disposable diapers absorb the pee really good and the baby or toddler doesn't really feel wet until the diaper gets completely full of pee.

I never changed my kids diapers until they were full and about ready to leak.

Even when the diaper was full the child's skin was pretty dry and they never really felt wet.

A 2 year old or 3 year old can sometimes go as long as 3 hours without needing a diaper change as that's usually how long it takes for the 2 or 3 year old to wet their diaper until it's full.

Once a child gets to 2 or 3 years old they may only need to wear between 5 to 7 diapers per day and only need between 5 to 7 diaper changes per day.

Some 3 year olds may only go through 4 diapers per day especially if they are Pampers baby dry or Pampers Cruisers or Huggies diapers that are really absorbent.
