Daycare wants my 3 year old son back in diapers?

My 3 year old son is in the midst of potty training and I've been sending him to daycare in underwear as he's been keeping his underwear dry at home most times.

I sent my 3 year old to daycare in underwear instead of pull ups or diapers and when I picked him up yesterday he was wearing a disposable diaper.

The daycare put my 3 year old son back in a Pampers Cruisers size 7 diaper and they told me that they want him to wear diapers while at daycare and not pull ups or underwear because he wet his underwear and didn't go to the bathroom.

They said until he keeps his diaper dry for at least a month and has very little if any accidents that he needs to wear a diaper and not pull ups.

Is it normal for daycare centers to put nearly potty trained children back in regular diapers?

Sorry to hear that your 3 year old must wear diapers again while in daycare and they won't accept pull ups.

But pull ups do leak when they wet heavily or poop in them too much and that creates a mess.

A child can still be potty trained while wearing tape on diapers and I did it with my kids as well.

My kids stayed in regular disposable diapers until they could manage to go onto the toilet themselves and wore the diapers when on road trips or when out shopping in case they had a poop accident or pee accident.

I would just take the child to the bathroom and undo the tapes on the diaper and slide it down their legs.

Just loosen the tapes a little and move them over and re tape the diaper and slide it down like a pull up.

Then tape it back on the child when they are done with the toilet.

I would say a month in diapers is too long if they remain dry in the diaper but the daycare I worked at our daycare also required children who were potty training to wear regular diapers and we would help them take the diaper off to pee or poop and then put it back on them.

As my kids got older I taught them how to undo the diaper and then how to tape it back on when they were done.

They continued to wear the diaper until nearly 4 years old and sometimes as long as 5 years old when we were away from the toilet or on a long road trip.

Pull ups are just diapers that are less absorbent and more expensive.
