Impetigo is usually not very serious and in most cases the Impetigo which is a skin infection goes away on it's own even without treatment.

However if you don't get treatment for the Impetigo it will last longer and make you more miserable.

I would recommend seeing a doctor and get some medicine for it so that it clears up.

You also will not be contagious after 24 hours of taking medicine for Impetigo so I would go to the doctor or urgent care center for treatment.

Once Impetigo infects you you are contagious with the impetigo for up to 24 hours once you take the medicine.

If you don't take medicine for impetigo then you could remain contagious until the impetigo infection goes away.

You should always see a doctor or go to the emergency room or urgent care when you think you have or someone else has impetigo.

They can then prescribe you some medicine to take and treat you for the impetigo symptoms.

Once you take the medicine prescribed to you for impetigo for 24 hours then you are no longer contagious and can't spread the impetigo to other people.

Then after 3 days the sores should begin to heal.

Be careful around other people and stay home for at least 24 hours when you do have Impetigo until it's no longer contagious.
