Going to bed hungry is not bad for you or your health.
But for some people including myself it can be hard to get to sleep when you're hungry so for me I have to have a small snack or something such as a sandwich or even a bowl of oatmeal or cereal before I can go to sleep.
My hunger would keep me awake so I could not go to sleep when hungry but if I could it would not be bad.
Going to bed hungry makes you more likely to eat breakfast in the morning to start your day since you're actually fasting when asleep.
Being hungry when going to bed and sleeping is actually healthy for you as it cleanses your body of toxins but it's okay to eat something before going to bed or even in the middle of the night.
