Rickets can be inherited from the parents or can be a result of lack of nutrition as a kid.
When a parent is malnourished themselves while pregnant the baby won't get enough nutrition themselves and have problems with not getting enough vitamin D and calcium to make strong bones.
That can also happen when the child is growing up and not getting of the Calcium or Vitamin D in their diet and when that happens the child may need some Vitamin D and Calcium Supplements.
Some signs and symptoms of a child with rickets are skeletal deformities such as an oddly shaped skull. bowlegs, or legs that bow out.
Tenderness or pain of the child's arms, legs, pelvis, or spine.
Holes in the tooth enamel, teeth deformities, such as: delayed tooth formation and stunted growth and short stature, bone fractures and muscle cramps.
