It depends on the snake.

Some snakes do come out at night while others are more active during the day.

I've seen some snakes out in the night as well as day so yes some snakes do indeed come out at night and move around at night.

So you have to be careful especially if you're out tent camping in an area where snakes are at night.

Most snakes are more active during the daylight hours but you can sometimes encounter snakes at night.

Snakes prey on rodents and other animals that are active in the night so if they know food is around at night the snake will become active at night to catch the rodent such as a rat or mouse.

Rats and mice are most active during the night as well so snakes that eat those rats and mice would be active at night as well so they can catch their prey and eat them.
