Yes modern cars and and still do overheat if they are not maintained properly.

If the modern car or any car does not have enough coolant in them or the fans decide not to work when needed to cool the engine or theirs an obstruction of airflow through the radiator then the car could overheat.

You should always keep an eye on your temperature gauge for any possible overheating and if the car starts overheating you need to shut the cars engine off and allow it to cool or turn the heater on to help extract some heat from the engine.

But if the engine is really overheating you need to shut the engine off to avoid damage.

The issue could be coolant loss due too coolant leaks, bad water pump, bad hoses for radiator or heater hoses etc.

It's best to replace heater hoses, radiator hoses etc at 10 years regardless of miles because rubber hoses age and then can crack and lead to a burst radiator hose or heater hose and then you'd be stranded on the side of the road.

Hi friend. In your question, a lot will depend on your financial solvency and, of course, in my opinion, a very acceptable choice is the Hyundai Elantra. All cars including modern cars can overheat.

As long as the water pump and cooling system are working properly then the car should not overheat.
