If Someone’s Life is So Awful that They Want to Die, Why Stop Them?

A friend called me up and said her friend is wanting to commit suicide. She asked me what she should do.

I told her that she shouldn't intervene and that it should be her friends choice on whether to die or not.

I feel that it should be the persons right to end their life if they want to and not someone else's choice.

And don't give me that crap of it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem as not all problems for all people are temporary.

I do agree that it should be the persons right to die when they want. But a person should intervene and at least try and talk them out of it and do something to help them.
