A new fuel pump can cost between $30.00 to $200.00 depending on the make and model of vehicle.

To change out a fuel pump on a car requires the dropping of the gas tank to get to the fuel pump and the whole sending unit and fuel pump must be replaced at the same time on newer vehicles.

If your vehicle is a truck then the truck bed can be removed to get to the fuel pump from above which makes it easier to change the fuel pump.

I've changed fuel pumps myself in my car and truck and the fuel pump and sending unit for the car was $85.00 online and for the truck it was only $50.00 for the sending unit and fuel pump.

It took an hour of work for me to change them out.

So you can expect to pay a shop around $200.00 to $500.00 to replace a fuel pump depending on the vehicle and the shop.
