Can rabbits transmit diseases to humans?

Yes rabbits can transmit some diseases from them to humans through bacteria through bites and scratches.

So if you get bitten or scratched by a rabbit you should immediately wash the bite or scratch with antibacterial soap and hot water to kill the bacteria.

Make sure you also wash your hands with hot water and soap after touching a rabbit or cleaning their cages of rabbit poop to prevent spread of disease.

Some of the diseases that rabbits can transmit to humans are zoonotic diseases such as pasteurellosis, ringworm, mycobacteriosis, cryptosporidiosis and external parasites.

So if you get bitten by a rabbit or scratched wash your hands and treat the scratch or bite and see a doctor to make sure you've not been infected.
