E Coli and the symptoms of E Coli typically go away on their own within 5 to 10 days after you get the E Coli.

Some cases of E Coli do not require medical treatment but if you do have E Coli it would be in your best interest anyway to go to a doctor or the emergency room or urgent care to be checked out.

If you have a walk in clinic you should go to the walk in clinic at least just to be sure the E Coli or any other health issues are not as serious.

It's better to be safe than sorry and taking antibiotics for the E Coli will help get rid of the E Coli faster and make you feel much better.

However if you're infected with E. coli O157 then antibiotics do not help and may make the E Coli worse so it's a good idea to get tested for the actual type of E Coli you have.

The symptoms of E Coli can mimic flu symptoms and you may experience stomach cramps, Fever, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Loss of Appetite, Abdominal Pain, Bloody Diarrhea and even Malaise.
