It's rare that it happens but cows can explode after they die if they are not buried or disposed of and are allowed to lay out there in the extreme heat.
The extreme heat can cause the cow to explode due to methane gas buildup in the cows body but it usually only happens after the cow has died.
The extreme heat causes gases to rapidly expand in the cows shortly after they die of heat-related distress which results in the dead cows body exploding into pieces.
Cows have also caused explosions due to farting a lot due to the methane gas they produce when they fart as well.
