Once you take the antibiotics for the tooth infection the antibiotics should begin working on the tooth infection within 24 to 48 hours.

When you have a tooth infection and take antibiotics for it you usually need to continue taking the antibiotics for the tooth infection for 7 to 10 days.

If the antibiotics haven't started working on the tooth infection after 2 days then you might want to see your dentist about it or go to urgent care to get the tooth infection checked out.

You might need a stronger dose of the antibiotics or even an injection to help with the tooth infection.

Most times when I've taken antibiotics for tooth infections the antibiotics started working within 24 hours and my tooth infection started going away.

I then continued taking the antibiotics for 10 days and then after that the tooth infection was gone.
