Some babies will cry when they poop and some babies won't cry when they poop.
So your baby may poop at night or during the day and not cry and you won't know about until you check their diaper and find out.
On the other hand some babies will cry during the night or during the day when they have pooped their diaper and will cry until you change them.
It all depends on the baby and how they feel.
My son used to cry when he was a newborn and a year old and under when he wet or pooped his diaper but when he got near 2 years old he would not want me to change his diaper when it was wet and poopy.
He seemed to love the poop feeling and pee in his diaper for some reason and I remember when he was 2 and I was changing his diaper he tried putting the wet and poop filled diaper back on him after I removed it.
After that I threw the diaper away immediately into a trash can near the changing table.
