The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and then after the winter solstice the days after the winter solstice will begin getting longer and longer as each day passes.

The days after the winter solstice will be a bit longer of at least 1 to 4 minutes longer each day until we get into summer.

Once we get into spring and summer the daylight hours will be longer and we'll have more daylight and it won't get dark as early as it does right now and on the winter solstice.

I hate that it gets dark early and I'm so glad once the winter solstice gets here and passes so that I can have more daylight hours to spend outside.
