The age at which a child is potty trained and stops wearing diapers during the day can vary from age 18 months to as late as age 3 or even 4 years old.

All children are different and will potty train at different times and ages but it's a good idea to try to introduce your child to the toilet at age 18 months.

Some children are ready to stop wearing diapers and use the toilet by age 18 months while some other kids may not be ready until age 3 or 4 years of age.

I would not push the potty training issue until the child is almost 4 years old and still wearing diapers and not showing interest in the toilet.

A child has to be potty trained to go to kindergarten unless they have special needs.

So as long as your child is potty trained by age 4 or at least before age 5 and before they attend kindergarten then they are okay and you're doing nothing wrong.
