Yes Ocala Florida is a pretty good place to retire with a pretty cheap cost of living compared to other parts of Florida.

I've been down to Ocala Florida and it does seem to be a place that I would want to retire or at least buy a home for winter there or even just a plot of land to park a travel trailer on over the winter.

Then I would come back probably to my current home in the spring or summer and stay until winter and go back to Ocala Florida for winter again.

Ocala Florida has some pretty cheap homes to buy that are in really good condition for the money compared to some other places.

Ocala Florida so far has never been hit by a hurricane so Ocala Florida is a much safer part of Florida to live in.

The hurricanes in Florida hit the parts of Florida most where they are near the Ocean so if you have an Ocean View in Florida and your house is near that area of water then the Hurricane is more likely to hit there than it is to hit areas of Florida that are further off away from the water.

Florida Hurricanes either hit south Florida, travel up the Atlantic coast or go into the Gulf and hit the panhandle of Florida or travel west.

If you want to live in Florida and avoid Hurricanes then Ocala Florida would be one of the best parts of Florida to live in and it's pretty cheap to live in Ocala Florida compared to many other parts of Florida.

I wouldn't mind retiring to Ocala Florida myself or at least have a winter home there were I could leave the cold area I'm in now for winter and then winter in Ocala Florida and then come back to my home where I am now in the spring.
