Prostatitis is most commonly caused by a bacterial infection but yes stress can cause prostatitis especially if you're constantly stressed out.
Other things such as surgery or injury can cause damage to the urinary tract which can lead to prostatitis.
The good news is though that prostatitis is curable with antibiotics that are prescribed by your doctor.
If you have prostatitis the best thing to do is go to the doctor and get tested for it and have the doctor treat it and prescribe you antibiotics.
Sometimes the prostatitis may clear up on it's own without treatment but it's best to get treatment for it as soon as possible.
In most cases of prostatitis the symptoms of prostatitis last at least 3 months but sometimes can last a bit longer or sometimes can last less time.
Most cases of prostatitis do clear up on their own especially if the prostatitis was caused by a bacterial infection.
When I had prostatitis last year I went to the doctor and they prescribed me some antibiotics to take and within a few months the prostatitis went away.
If you leave the prostatitis untreated it will usually go away on it's own without medical treatment but it will usually last longer.
I would recommend going to the doctor and having the prostatitis checked out and get some antibiotics to take to help it clear up faster.
You can however wait it out but if it gets worse then you should see the doctor about the prostatitis.
