When a woman is breastfeeding and taking Vitamin D supplements a small amount of the Vitamin D does get to the baby through the breast milk so your baby when breastfeeding will get some amount of Vitamin D through the breast milk which is a good thing.

But the amount of Vitamin D that gets through the breast milk is very little and the mother gets the most benefits from the Vitamin D supplements.

So if your baby is low on Vitamin D they will need some Vitamin D drops or baby formula that contains Vitamin D to get enough Vitamin D in their bodies to improve their health.

If you only breast feed your baby you need to give the baby some Vitamin D drops or feed them some baby formula with Vitamin D in it to keep them healthy.

Breast Milk is very healthy for the baby though but if the baby needs additional Vitamin D then you should make sure they get enough of it.
