As soon as the baby can eat solid foods easily then the baby can have eggs as soon as they are eating solid foods which can be as early as 6 months to 8 months of age.
Just make sure the eggs are cooked all the way through and give them scrambled eggs which makes it easier for the baby to chew the eggs and swallow and digest the eggs.
My babies loved scrambled eggs as early as 8 months old and they fed themselves the eggs when they started feeding themselves with the spoon or fork.
Babies can start finger foods as early as 6 months which is sometimes when some babies can begin grabbing the spoon from you or want to feed themselves.
Some babies may not be ready to start eating finger foods until 7 or 8 months of age but you can try to introduce finger foods to your baby as early as 6 months and see if they start feeding themselves.
Most times your baby will let you know when they are ready to eat finger foods and start feeding themselves because they will usually start pulling the spoon or fork or even the food away from you and want to put it in their own mouths.
That can happen as early as 8 months or as late as 9 months of age.
You can cut up some fruit such as apples, pears, bananas etc and put them in a bowl and put it on their high chair tray and they will usually start feeding themselves but if not try feeding them using their fingers and hands to teach them how to eat on their own.
