Yes a stove can go in front of a window if you want too have it there but if you do put a stove such as a gas stove near the window make sure the curtains stay away from the stove and preferably you should just use blinds on the window in front of the stove.

Even with an electric stove a curtain could get caught on fire if it comes into contact with the hot heating element just like it could if it came into contact with the flame of the gas stove.

I had my stove in front of a window at my old house and it was nice to look out the window while cooking meals and I could have the window open and let smoke and other food smells out of the house while I was cooking.

But now I have my stove in my new house away from the window and have a range hood that vents the stove outside.

The kitchen sink is now in front of the window which is nice as well because while I'm doing dishes I can look out the window.

But yes a stove can be near or in front of a window but make sure to not get a curtain near the stove.
