Yes toddlers can have maple syrup but if they are 1 year old then don't give the toddler too much maple syrup because it could lead to choking as it can be too rich for them.

Sometimes I even choke a bit when I have too much maple syrup on my pancakes but other than that the toddler will be just fine eating some maple syrup.

I used to make pancakes for my son when he was 1 year old and fed him bite sized pieces of the pancake and he would not eat it without a bit of maple syrup on the pancake.

Your 1 year old or older toddler should not get sick from the maple syrup but just don't pour a bunch of maple syrup on the pancake and your toddler can safely eat it.

Just cut the pancake up into finger sized foods so that the toddler can eat it more safely and not choke on the food.

Some people including doctors don't recommend feeding a baby maple syrup or a 1 year old maple syrup due to the risk of getting sick from it but my 1 year old lived and he's now 13 years old and still loves eating pancakes.

But now he loves to pour a lot of maple syrup on the pancakes.
