When your car begins to slide on the ice do not panic but instead slowly remove your foot from the gas pedal to allow the car to slow down.

When you get slowed down then tap the brakes lightly and do not slam on the brakes because if you start sliding on the ice and slam on your brakes your car could start spinning around and go into oncoming traffic.

If the ice is not too bad then you can usually regain control after slowing down and then continue at a slower pace in your car until you get home.

Never drive too fast on icy roads and if you don't have to be on the roads then it's best to stay home and avoid a possible fatal accident.

So in short when your car begins to slide on ice you slowly remove your foot from the accelerator pedal and then within a few seconds you should have control over the vehicle but if not lightly press the brake pedal to help slow down the car some more until you regain control.

If you have too then pull off to the side of the road and get towed so that you do not get into an accident.
