Regardless of the distance of a letter being delivered to the USPS should be able to deliver the letter within 3 to 4 days but sometimes it could take as long as 7 days but that is rare.

The USPS has airplanes that letters and packages will go on even if you don't send it airmail and the letter should get there in 3 to 4 days.

USPS is pretty fast at delivering letters and usually a letter will arrive faster than a package will.

For most letters that are mailed from 1,000 miles to 2,000 miles and even 5,000 miles away the letter should arrive within 3 to 5 days from the time you mailed it.

If the writing for the addresses are clear enough for the machine to read without human intervention then it will be sorted and sent on it's way much faster.

But if the address writing is messed up which makes it hard for the machine to read then it will be sent to a person to manually sort it.

Some mailed letters may take as long as 7 days to arrive but most of them arrive within 3 to 4 days.
