USPS is pretty fast at delivering letters and usually a letter will arrive faster than a package will.

For most letters that are mailed from 1,000 miles to 2,000 miles away the letter should arrive within 3 to 5 days from the time you mailed it.

If the writing for the addresses are clear enough for the machine to read without human intervention then it will be sorted and sent on it's way much faster.

But if the address writing is messed up which makes it hard for the machine to read then it will be sent to a person to manually sort it.

Some mailed letters may take as long as 7 days to arrive but most of them arrive within 3 to 4 days.
