When you have back pain and it only gets worse in the morning after waking up the back pain that worsens in the morning could be caused by a bad sleeping posture.

Incorrect sleeping positions can put pressure on your spine, causing its natural curve to flatten and lead to back pain that worsens in the morning when you wake up.

You might need to change the way you sleep and see if that helps get rid of the back pain or maybe your mattress is at fault as well.

Also you may need to readjust your pillow position so your neck is not too high when sleeping as that can lead to neck strain and back pain as well.

More pressure is also put on your spine when you're laying down and even a bad mattress can cause back pain to get worse at night and then cause the back pain to get worse during the day.

Most cases of back pain are caused by improper lifting and straining of the backs muscles but if you notice the back pain getting worse overtime then you might want to see a doctor about it.

If the back pain is severe, ongoing, or accompanied by other symptoms such as numbness or tingling in your arms or legs it's time to see a doctor.
