The time it takes for food poisoning to hit you and make you sick depends on the type of bacteria that caused the food poisoning.
In more severe cases of food poisoning you may begin to get sick within an hour 2 after getting food poisoning.
In other cases of food poisoning you might not get sick and feel the symptoms of food poisoning until 24 to 48 hours later.
The symptoms of food poisoning are cramps, vomiting, nausea and diarrhea.
You may also experience pain in the abdomen or rectum and have other symptoms of food poisoning including things such as chills, dehydration, dizziness, fatigue, fever, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, malaise, or sweating.
If you get food poisoning you should go to the emergency room just to be safe although some cases of food poisoning go away on their own but to be safe and avoid dying of botulism you should seek medical attention.
