Yes scrap yards will take rusted metal and rusted tin, iron etc.

They don't care if the metal is clean, dirty etc or rusted because the metal will be shipped off to a shredder or if the metal is thicker metal it will be torched down or broken down and sent off as prepared iron.

The iron or other metal will be sent off to a smelter who will then melt the scrap metal down into new metal.

Once the rusted metal gets put into the melting pot it will not look or be rusty again as the rust does not affect the ability for the metal to be melted.

All the iron and metals we use today have come from the ground from Iron Ore and the rust is a natural way of the steel or iron being returned to the ground.

Scrap yards buy and sell many tons of rusted metal and iron daily so it's not a problem.

If it's just scrap iron or tin you won't get much for just a little bit of it because of the low scrap metal prices right now.

Right now if I were to take in 2,000 lbs of scrap iron or tin I would get $20.00 but it would cost me $30.00 to take it there so it's not worth it right now.

But if you just want to get rid of the scrap metal you can take it there and at least pay for your gas or a little bit of gas.
