All scrap metal can make money if you have enough of the scrap metal and the price is up enough.
The best things to scrap for money are A/C coils, copper tubing, copper wire and brass.
Those are the highest paying things right now and also Catalytic converters can sometimes pay as much as $100.00 each depending on the quality.
Vehicle batteries are also another good thing to scrap for money as they can sometimes bring $5.00 to $10.00 each depending on size and weight.
Scrap iron and Tin can also be good scrap to make money if the price is up enough but it takes a ton or 2,000 lbs to make the trip worthwhile to drive to a scrap yard.
Right now scrap iron and tin is around $20.00 per ton here but the last time I took some in during the summer it was paying as much as $150.00 per ton.
But now it's not worth it to take it in until it goes back up but you can stockpile tin and iron scrap until the price goes back up because it eventually it will.
I here right now the scrap iron and tin is down due to low demand and that Iron Ore is being purchased cheaper than scrap.
And even Iron Sand so that's one reason scrap iron and tin is down but eventually it will go back up.
