Anyone live in their house while remodeling it?

Has anyone lived in their house while remodeling it and how did it pan out?

I'm thinking about completely remodeling my house by gutting the entire house and redoing the whole house by doing one room at a time.

Should I temp move out of the house while remodeling it or has anyone just stayed in their house while doing the gutting and remodeling?

I once lived in a house I remodeled. It wasn't great but it wasn't too bad either.

I just lived in one room and gutted one room at a time.

I don't think I'd do it again though. I'd rather temporarily rent another house for the time I'm remodeling the current house.
