The baby needs to come out head first because the birth canal is designed for the baby to come out the birth canal head first and if not the babies head can get stuck in the birth canal because the rest of the head cannot shrink enough to go through the birth canal easily.

If the baby does not come out correctly such as in head first then it is possible that the baby could suffocate during birth.

The baby should normally come out of the mother head first because the head is able to shrink in size a bit to squeeze the head through the birth canal.

If the baby is born feet first then the babies head can get stuck inside the mothers birth canal and that could lead to suffocation of the baby.

But as long as the baby comes out normally they should be perfectly okay.

If the baby gets into a position of feet first then a C Section is required to remove the baby safely from the womb.

If the baby cries after birth then they are usually okay and are breathing properly.

When a baby is born they have fluid in their lungs which is normal but needs to be removed once the baby is born so that the baby can breathe properly after birth.

Inside the womb the baby doesn't breathe like they do when they are outside the womb.

When a baby is born normal and healthy they will usually cry after birth which is always a good thing and a good sign that the baby has been born healthy.

The baby cries to get the fluid out of his or her lungs which means they are breathing properly and doctors would slap the babies feet or pat them on the back to get them crying.

The crying helps the babies lungs to clear out the fluid and get their lungs working properly.

So doctors do encourage babies to cry after birth.
