Can you sell aluminum cans out of state for scrap?

Can you take aluminum beverage cans out of state to get a better price for them?

I think I read somewhere that it's illegal to transport beverage cans across states and you could get into trouble for doing it if you're not a transport company specifically transporting scrap aluminum cans.

I'd just sell them in the state you're in to avoid any trouble.
