Most oil pressure readings for a vehicle at idle is around 25 PSI to 40 PSI and can go up to 50 PSI and 65 PSI the faster you drive.

As you accelerate the oil pump spins faster which means it pushes oil through the engine at higher pressures which is normal.

As you slow down the oil pressure can start to go down which is also normal and nothing is wrong with the vehicle.

As long as your vehicles oil pressure remains at least 25 PSI to 40 PSI while idling then the engine is okay and the engine is getting enough oil.

As the engine oil heats up the oil thins out which causes a drop in engine oil pressure which is also normal.

It is normal for some vehicles oil pressure gauges to fluctuate while driving but if the oil pressure goes above 70 PSI then it could mean that the oil pressure sending unit is bad or the oil pressure is actually getting too high.

When oil pressure is too high it can cause oil seals and other engine seals to open up and leak so get the oil pressure checked if the oil pressure constantly goes up too high.
