In prison the person is away from family and outside friends who will be spending their holidays in likely a happy mood while the prisoner is locked away in a prison and cannot get out to go spend time with family.

Some prisoners may get depressed while thinking about what their family is doing and knowing that they are out having fun while they have to spend day in and day out inside a prison and prison cell and cannot just leave and go do whatever they want.

I could not imagine having to spend the rest of my life locked up in prison and would go really crazy and I would rather prefer death over life in prison.

When you're in prison for life you're just basically buried alive and you might be alive but you're locked in behind those walls and fences and cannot go enjoy life.

Everyday is the same and nothing really changes.

In prison it has got to be hell to be in their on your birthday or other holidays unless you don't care about birthdays or holidays.

Some prisoners may not even care about their birthday and have given up on having a reason to live which happens to some prisoners.

But then again there are some prisoners in prison that are only there for a short while and will then eventually return to society and be with their family.

Sometimes the prisoners family will send them birthday cards and then a prison inmate may have a small party for the inmate if they are friends but not always.

Spending any day in jail is boring and horrible and you never want to go to jail or prison.

Jail from my 30 day experience a few years ago was horrible and incredibly boring with nothing to really do to pass the time.

I didn't celebrate my birthday in jail because there was no family around at the time and they wouldn't allow us to celebrate birthdays.

I wouldn't want to celebrate my birthday in jail or prison anyway because all I could think about is getting out of jail and never returning.

I mostly sat around watching TV with other inmates and spent some time in the jail cell alone and it was very boring and I got cabin fever because I'm used to being outside often and when you're in jail there's no going outside at least at the jail I was at.

You can't just walk out the door and go walk around town or drive around town since you're locked up and have to stay there inside the building and in a tiny jail cell.
