The disease Lupus can sometimes be deadly in some people.
But for most people who do develop Lupus and are health in other ways usually go on to live a long life and normal life expectancy.
Some people have lived up to 40 years after being diagnosed with the disease Lupus so having Lupus isn't always a death sentence.
Of course if you're not as healthy in other ways then the Lupus may be deadly sooner for you but if you're healthy overall then having Lupus doesn't mean you'll always die.
If you do have Lupus you should get treatment for the Lupus as soon as possible to increase your chances of living a long healthy life.
If the Lupus is pretty far progressed then you might die within a year or so of developing the Lupus especially if you're already older and in poor health to begin with.
