Most cases of Diastasis Recti are not dangerous or harmful to your health and usually it's just a nuisance to have Diastasis Recti.

However in some rare cases Diastasis Recti could become dangerous if a hernia develops and organs poke through the open muscles.

But that is rare for that to happen.

Some cases of Diastasis Recti heal on their own without Diastasis Recti surgery or other treatments.

Sometimes it can take several years as in 5 years to 10 years for the Diastasis Recti to heal if it ever does.

Some peoples Diastasis Recti never heals unless they have surgery for it and when you consider surgery for Diastasis Recti you should not take it lightly.

Surgery that fixes Diastasis Recti is a substantial surgery and should only be used as a last resort if all other treatments do not fix it.

The cost to have Diastasis Recti surgery to fix it surgically cost between $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 and usually is an out of pocket expense and usually not covered by your health insurance.

Doing some exercises including walking can sometimes help the Diastasis Recti heal much sooner than it normally would on it's own.
