When a CV axle or CV joint is failing they will usually make sounds such as a clicking, popping or grinding noise, especially when turning the steering wheel while driving.

If you notice a clicking sound upon acceleration that gets louder and louder the faster you go then your CV axle joints are likely bad.

You'll need to replace the entire CV axle and not just the joints.

New CV axles cost around $100.00 to $150.00 a piece and can cost between $200.00 to $500.00 in labor charges to replace them.

It usually takes around 2 to 4 hours in labor to replace both CV axles depending on how easy they are to remove.

I've had some CV axles take me nearly all day to replace because they were being really stubborn to remove and others might just come out easily.
