If you want to pop a cold sore to help get rid of the cold sore faster you can do so.
But it's not really recommended to pop a cold sore at all because you risk spreading the cold sore to other parts of your lips or anywhere else the cold sore fluid gets too.
It's very tempting to pop a cold sore but you really should not do so because there's really not much benefit when doing so.
You can try applying some ice to the cold sore or Abreva and even a cold compress.
You can also apply some Lemon Balm or other lip balm to the cold sore to help get rid of it and protect your skin.
A cold sore will usually go away on it's own within 1 to 2 weeks even if you do not treat it.
The last time I tried popping a cold sore on my lip I developed a few more cold sores due to it spreading so I would not recommend popping a cold sore.
