A baby that is properly hydrated should have at least 1 wet diaper every 2 hours or 3 hours depending on the age.

Newborns will usually go through 6 to 10 wet diapers per day and the diapers should be sopping wet when you change them and not just slightly wet.

A toddler may only need a diaper change every 3 hours because they tend to wet less often and usually hold in their pee and let it out all at once.

As long as the diapers are sopping wet and really squishy then the toddler or baby is properly hydrated.

If you have a baby and the babies diaper is only slightly wet or dry after an hour or 2 then they are most likely dehydrated and need more fluids.

If the toddler as in 1 year old or 2 or 3 year old goes more than 3 hours without a really wet diaper then they are probably dehydrated as well.

A 2 or 3 year old should have at least a partially wet diaper after 2 or 3 hours.
