If you have renters insurance the renters insurance will cover the cost of mold damage to your personal property and not to the property or building itself.
Renters insurance only covers damages to your personal property that resides in the rental property.
The landlord should have building insurance for the apartment or house such as homeowners insurance to cover the cost of any damage to the property that is not caused by the tenant.
If you caused the mold damage to the property then your rental insurance will not cover the cost of the damage.
But if something such as a roof leak, water leak or other condensation caused mold damage to any of your personal property then the cost of the mold damage to your personal property will be covered.
